We are a member-based nonprofit, meaning that our operations depend primarily on our paid memberships. Aside from supporting the operations of the Association and its support groups, your membership helps to defray the costs related to the production and distribution of What's Happening and Brainstorming. Additionally, BIAD members are registered members with the Brain Injury Assoc. of America, and as a member you would receive a subscription to their semi-annual magazine The Challenge. Among other things, these publications (ours and theirs) highlight advancements in brain injury research, shows progress on Capitol Hill on legislation relative to brain injury, and provides testimonials from survivors of brain injury, neurologists, and brain injury specialists. Your membership helps us to increase our outreach efforts to the community as well. Click on a Button to become a Paid Member of BIAD or to make a donation. Your donation to BIAD is tax-deductible. Sonny Bolt was a great supporter of BIAD. He was husband to Becky Bolt, former BIAD Board Member & Dover Support Group Facilitator, and he was a valuable BIAD volunteer. He would set up exhibit tables, support events, and help in any way he could. Sonny passed away in 2008 of pancreatic cancer. Becky lost her husband, Dawn and her brothers lost their Daddy, and we lost someone we loved and depended on. Donations to Sonny's Scholarship Fund will be used strictly to pay for entrance fees for survivors to the Annual Brain Injury Conference, the Art Club Program, and social events, on a first-come, first-served basis. Pike Creek Coffee Roasterie was started by a local woman who experienced the devastation of her husband’s brain injury, and began to look for something to help him regain some of his lost cognitive ability.
The company roasts & grinds its beans to order, ships internationally, creates custom gift baskets, and now even offers private labeling. (If you live close to Zingo’s in Pike Creek, they will refund your shipping if you would prefer to pick up your order at their in-store coffee shop.)
