"Accessing the System to Improve the Quality of Life
for Your Children - Ages 3 to 21"

Who: Brain Injury Association of West Virginia (BIA-WV) in partnership with West Virginia Parent Training Information (WVPTI)

What: Parent training on school issues concerning a child with a traumatic brain injury (parents of children with other developmental disabilities are also welcome).

Where: Family Enrichment Center- Shoenbaum Center, 1701 5th Avenue, Charleston, WV

When: August 21, 2004: 9:00-4:30

  • 8:30-9:00 Registration
  • 9:00-10:30 Brain Injury Awareness- Peggy Brown, Executive Director- BIA-WV
  • 10:30- 10:45 Break
  • 10:45- 12:15 Section 504 Plans- Ginny Gattlieb- WVPTI
  • 12:15-1:15 Lunch- Provided
  • 1:15- 3:45 Breakout: Choice of either Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA)/Individual Education Plan (IEP) or Transition to higher education or community- Ginny Gattlieb or Kim Farley-WVPTI
  • 3:45-4:00 Break
  • 4:00-4:30 Questions and Answers- All speakers
