An Open Invitation to Join the Task Force

Dear Potential Task Force Member,

The Wyoming Acquired Brain Injury Task Force was developed by the state of Wyoming Department of Health, Division of Developmental Disabilities, to provide input for the development of the Acquired Brain Injury Waiver. The Task Force membership includes DDD staff, the Brain Injury Association of Wyoming, service providers, people with brain injuries, and their families.

In the spring of 2005, the state of Wyoming was awarded a Health Resource Services Administration (HRSA) grant for planning brain injury system changes. In January surveys were sent to providers, survivors, and families. This data was reviewed at Task Force meetings and planning began on an Acquired Brain Injury Action Plan. In order to complete a comprehensive plan, the Task Force would like to expand membership to include neurosurgeons, neuropsychologists, neurologists, educators, minorities, veterans, other professionals, and more brain injury survivors and their families.

We would like to invite you or your designee to participate as we plan and mobilize to fill gaps in providing services for those with acquired brain injuries in Wyoming. By getting involved now, you have the opportunity to share your concerns, needs, wants, and dreams in order to improve services for this underserved population.

All task force meetings are open to the public.

Your travel, food, and lodging can be reimbursed through the Task Force. If your agency pays these expenses, their contribution will be considered as an in-kind contribution. You will need to make your own hotel reservations. If you are a new applicant for membership in the Task Force, please RSVP so that we can reserve enough space.

Contact Page Fagan, ABI Task Force Coordinator at 1(800)643-6457 or email him at abitaskforce@tribcsp.com if you are planning to attend the meeting. If you are unable to travel, we can arrange for telephone contact throughout the meeting. You may also send a letter or email with your suggestions and ideas.

Thank you for your time, and we look forward to seeing you there!

Sincerely,

Page Fagan
Acquired Brain Injury Task Force Coordinator
