Calling All Medicare Beneficiaries who use Medical Devices/Assistive Technologies

The Brain Injury Association of America is an active member of the Independence Through Enhancement of Medicare and Medicaid (ITEM) Coalition. The Coalition is surveying people with disabilities and chronic conditions to assess whether they are experiencing problems with accessing the devices they need to function independently in everyday life.

Specifically, we are interested in medical device and assistive technology users that live in areas where Medicare has implemented a selective provider contracting program known as the DME Competitive Bidding Program. We would like to find out how access to devices and services is being impacted.

Please respond to the survey if you are a Medicare beneficiary who uses a device to remain independent, and please share the survey with other Medicare beneficiaries, either directly or through providers. All beneficiaries who use assistive devices are encouraged to respond, even if they live outside of a bidding area.

Click here to access the survey.

Any information shared about the identity of the respondents will be kept strictly confidential, and only shared with the respondent’s permission.

Thank you!
