Celebrities, BIAA Join Forces to "Tackle TBI" in Public Service Announcement

BIAA has joined Helius Medical Technologies, former NLF player Marvin Washington, and Montel Williams to launch "Tackling TBI," a new public service announcement designed to raise awareness of Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) and concussions as growing health issues and to provide patients with education, resources, and encouragement to participate in clinical trials to support development of new therapies.

“Currently more than 5.3 million Americans in the U.S. live with a lifelong disability as a result of a TBI and there are 1.7 million new cases each year,” said Montel Williams. “Our goal is to ensure that the public at large understands the problem and that patients and caregivers understand where to go for resources that can help.”

The PSA featuring Williams and Washington reminds viewers that a TBI can range from subtle to severe, symptoms can take years to progress, and that it’s important to speak with a doctor or healthcare professional if they think they’ve had a brain injury.
