Comments to CMS on Data Collection for Essential Health Benefits
06-Jul-2012
BIAA submitted comments to the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services on the proposed rulemaking for data collection to support standards related to essential health benefits (EHB) and recognition of entities for the accreditation of qualified health plans under the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA). BIAA strongly stated that it is critical that the regulations on the EHB package explicitly establish appropriate coverage of these benefits consistent with the intent of the statute and the needs of people with traumatic brain injury who require habilitation and rehabilitation services and devices. Habilitative and rehabilitative services and devices are mandated as essential health benefits in Section 1302 of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (ACA), Pub. L. 111-148.
