Congressional Budget Office Releases Cost Estimates for the ACA

The Congressional Budget Office (CBO) released two new cost estimates for the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act this week. The first report indicates that after the Supreme Court decision to uphold the law, CBO expects the cost of the Affordable Care Act will drop by $84 billion compared to previous estimates. The second report CBO released is a cost estimate for H.R. 6079, the ACA repeal bill that passed the House of Representatives on July 11, 2012. The report reaffirmed that repealing the ACA would increase the deficit over ten years by $109 billion. To read this report please click here.
