Final JHTR Issue of 2011 Focuses on Clinical Research and Practice

This year's final issue of the Journal of Head Trauma Rehabilitation (JHTR) focuses on Clinical Research and Practice. Three studies from investigators in the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) are highlighted, two of which report findings from evaluations of the VA TBI Screening process. Donnelly and colleagues examined the psychometric properties of the VA TBI Screening Tool, while Sayer, Nelson and Nugent investigated the overall screening process in which the tool is used. The third VA article provides estimates of the rates of sensory impairments resulting from blast and non-blast causes of TBI. The issue is rounded out by reports on two tools that have been found useful for the assessment of individuals with TBI, the Brief COPE and the European Brain Injury Questionnaire.

JHTR is the official journal of BIAA and all paid ACBIS (Academy of Certified Brain Injury Specialists) applicants receive a one year subscription. As an exclusive benefit, renewing ACBIS certificants have the opportunity to renew subscriptions to JHTR for only $50 per year (regular subscription price is $129.99). The Journal of Head Trauma Rehabilitation is a leading, peer-reviewed resource that provides up-to-date information on the clinical management and rehabilitation of persons with traumatic brain injuries. Four issues each year focus on a subject of importance to the practitioner, and the remaining two focus on a variety of clinical practice and research topics.
