Cord Blood Stem Cell Clinical Research Trial to start

05-Jan-2011

A Phase I clinical trial will use cord blood stem cells to treat traumatic brain injury in children.  The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston and Children's Memorial Hermann Hospital released information about the clinical trials.  This is the first Phase I clinical trial approved by the Food and Drug Administration to investigate the use of a child's own cord blood stem cells to treat traumatic brain injury.  Additional information about cord blood stem cells is available at the Cord Blood Registry.
