Caregivers' Education Seminar: Double Whammy: Managing Brain Injury and Severe Mental Illness after Rehabilitation
Wednesday, September 21, 2011, at 3 p.m. ET: Rolf Gainer PhD, CEO, Brookhaven Hospital and Neurologic Rehabilitation Institute of Ontario, will address the dynamics which can affect a person with both a brain injury and mental health issues. He will also identify the changes in resources required to provide individuals with meaningful and effective supports in the community.  

Objectives:
1. Understand the issues faced by people with brain injury and co-occurring mental illness
2. Understand the specialized resources needed to sustain a person in the community
3. Consider how a combination of strategies from both neuro rehabilitation and community based mental health treatment is required to create a supportive community for these individuals
