Christina Ryan, M.D. is a general internist by training. In her clinical role she has focused on people in the hospital for neurosurgical interventions, and has taken a special interest in the management of internal medicine issues in this particular population. This clinical work has led her to research questions at the intersection of chronic medical co-morbidity and traumatic brain injury (TBI). She has particular interest in ensuring patients with TBI receive proper diagnosis and timely treatment. Her research focus is on recognition and management of complex medical co-morbidity and careful transitions of care.

Within the last 24 months, have you rendered, or in the next two years, will you render clinical services or support services (whether diagnostic, therapeutic, educational, case management, or similar) to persons with TBI or their family members and caregivers, as an independent professional or employee of a for-profit or not-for-profit organization?: University of Washington Medicine at Harborview Medical Center. I will provide inpatient care to medically complicated patients admitted with TBI. I will also provide perioperative care to patients having surgical procedures who may have a history of TBI. This accounts for approx 30% of my times.

Within the past 24 months and during the three-year course of the project under consideration, I or one of my immediate family members received or will receive financial or material research support or compensation from the following: My husband, Michael J Ryan MD, is employed as Assistant Dean for Curriculum at the University of Washington School of Medicine and performs educational research as part of this role.
