Dr. Joel Scholten is the Associate Chief of Staff for Rehab Services at the Washington, D.C. VA Medical Center and Director of Special Projects in the PM&R Program Office. He received his medical degree at the University of South Dakota and completed his residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Eastern Virginia Graduate School of Medicine. Dr. Scholten is an Associate Clinical Professor of Rehabilitation Medicine at Georgetown University School of Medicine. He serves as the clinical coordinator of VA’s Polytrauma/Blast Related Injury QUERI and Director of the DC VA’s Advanced Polytrauma Fellowship program.
