Are you interested in Brain Injury Association of America (BIAA) education initiatives? Apply to be a member of the new BIAA Education Task Force!

The purpose of the BIAA Education Task Force is to assist BIAA in planning educational content for brain injury professionals, caregivers, and survivors. Using program evaluations, surveys, industry trends, connections, and other information, the Task Force helps identify topics and speakers for many of our programs. Duties will include recommending topics and potential speakers for webinars, repurposing educational content, and identifying educational content gaps and opportunities for BIAA.

Education Task Force membership will include brain injury professionals from multiple disciplines, family caregivers, and individuals living with brain injury. Available positions include:

  • Chair: The chair serves a one-year term. The chair works with staff to set meeting agendas, facilitate discussion duringĀ  meetings, provide direction for tasks, and implement deadlines. The chair may continue to serve as a Task Force member at the conclusion of the term if the individual has not served more than five consecutive years on the Task Force.
  • Assistant Chair: The assistant chair serves one year as assistant chair and moves into the chair position the subsequent year. The assistant chair performs duties as assigned by the chair and serves as chair in the absence of the chair.
  • Members: Members serve two-year terms, with no more than five consecutive years of membership.

Education Task Force members will work with the BIAA Education Program Manager and are required to meet virtually once per month. In addition to the monthly meetings, members are required to commit an estimated one hour per week to assigned tasks.

Interested volunteers, please click here to apply. You will be contacted by September 15 with an update on the status of your application. Questions? Email skelly@biausa.org.
