Eugene Peebles

Eugene Peebles, also known as “Eugene with The Talking Sax,” is a highly skilled musician who can perform at any event or function nationwide. He plays the alto, tenor, and soprano saxophone with a unique combination of passion, talent, and versatility that can entertain any audience. Eugene Peebles customizes his set lists for each occasion, drawing from a wide range of selections from his repertoire of contemporary or classical jazz, R&B, gospel, oldies but goodies, and just about any popular music selections.

Eugene with The Talking Sax is a classically trained musician who began his musical journey following a near-fatal bicycle accident when he was ten. After his family drew upon their faith and belief in God to heal him, Eugene was gifted an organ by his father, which motivated him to pursue music. Eugene went on to study piano, organ, and saxophone and quickly demonstrated extraordinary talent and developed a special love for saxophone. He played in the school’s concert and marching bands throughout high school and was a standout member.

Eugene honed his skills as a saxophonist and organist at his church home. He later earned his bachelor’s degree in business from Central Methodist University while performing with college jazz and concert bands. After college, Eugene held several positions in the St. Louis business community while continuing to perform at church, local programs, and countless events. Eugene is also a licensed minister and has spoken nationwide to share his story. He even served as the Minister of Music for his home church in Missouri.
Eugene relocated to Northern California for a few years, continuing to mature and develop his persona before returning in 2012. He has performed for The American Cancer Society events in St. Louis. He was awarded Jazz Artist of The Year (2015) for his jazz instrumental rendition of the song “Love Calls.” In 2017, Eugene recorded and released a Jazz/R&B album titled The Talking Sax and 2 singles, 24 K Magic and Winelight, to which he received various awards as Best Jazz Musician and Best Jazz Artist.

Eugene is a highly sought-after musician specializing in enchanting corporate/private event audiences. He’s equally at home performing on the stages of the country’s jazz festivals with his inspiring performances. Eugene has been recognized as one of the premier jazz musicians globally. He draws from a vast repertoire of contemporary and classical Jazz, R&B, Gospel, Oldies, and Popular music. Whether commanding the stage front and center or providing background music, he consistently delivers an exceptional performance.

Eugene with The Talking Sax has performed for various notable events, including opening for gospel artists, performing at home games for St. Louis Cardinals and St. Louis Blues Hockey teams, and opening numerous NBA and WNBA games with the national anthem. He was even featured on Black Entertainment Television’s “Bobby Jones Concert” in St. Louis and honored to perform for military personnel at Beale Air Force Base in California.
