Dr. Hammond’s research has included outcome prediction and measurement, relationships, mood and behavior, and treatments to improve outcomes. Since 1998 she has served as the Principal Investigator and Director of the Carolinas Traumatic Brain Injury Model System grant funded by the National Institute on Disability Rehabilitation and Research. She also serves as principal investigator of several other Federally-funded research grants including a multicenter study from the National Institute on Disability and Rehabilitation Research to study the use of Amantadine to treat irritability and aggression in individuals with chronic brain injury.
