Flora Hammond

Dr. Hammond’s research has included outcome prediction and measurement, relationships, mood and behavior, and treatments to improve outcomes. Since 1998 she has served as the Principal Investigator and Director of the Carolinas Traumatic Brain Injury Model System grant funded by the National Institute on Disability Rehabilitation and Research. She also serves as principal investigator of several other Federally-funded research grants including a multicenter study from the National Institute on Disability and Rehabilitation Research to study the use of Amantadine to treat irritability and aggression in individuals with chronic brain injury.

Within the past 24 months, I or one of my “immediate family members” received personal compensation for the following: Steering Committee of Prism II Study (Avanir Pharmaceutical); Travel funding for Baylor College of Medicine, Cornell School of Medicine; Mayo Clinic; Rehab Institute of Chicago; Royalties from Lash Publishing for factsheets, tip cards and books, Demos Publishing for book; compensation for time spent as medical consultant; compensation to my department for my services as Medical Director at Neuro Restorative at St. Vincent Hospital, and Chief of Medical Affairs at Rehabilitation Institution Hospital of Indiana, and service line leader of Indiana University Health Physicians.
