Lee McAfee Scogin

Lee McAfee Scogin, OTR, is an occupational therapist whose practice since 2010 has been with persons diagnosed with neurological injuries and conditions including traumatic and non-traumatic brain injuries, disorders of consciousness, stroke, and spinal cord injury. Her extensive background also includes work in Functional Neurological Disorder, upper and lower extremity limb loss, left ventricular assistive devices (LVAD), and medically complex diagnoses.  Her clinical work includes 9 years in the inpatient rehabilitation hospital setting, 3 years in an intensive outpatient setting, and is currently working in a home and community-based setting. Lee has served as chairperson of hospital-wide programming committees including vision rehabilitation for the brain injury population and care for patients with limb loss in preparation for both CARF and JCAHO certifications, and representative of the inpatient department to division-wide and nation-wide committees. Lee’s love of education is reflected in her numerous CEU presentations on multiple topics at both state and national level conferences including AOTA and the TBI Model Systems conferences. She has proudly served as a clinical instructor for 12 years, and as a peer mentor. She is also a published author in the realm of OT practice in brain injury recovery during a global pandemic. Lee has served as volunteer counselor for the Mountain High Camp for brain injury survivors in Red River, New Mexico and routinely volunteers at Dallas area food banks.
